It is a simple concept, one that John the Baptist tried to model in his life when he proclaimed, "He must increase, but I must decrease," when speaking of Christ. But always seeking to put Christ first in our lives can be a tremendous challenge.
But that is who we are and who we wish to be as a church family. Thus, we have adopted this as our combined MISSION, VISION and PURPOSE as a church--to be more and more like and about Christ and less like and about ourselves.
We want to LEAD like Christ
WE WILL BECOME, AND LEAD OTHERS IN BECOMING, FULLY DEVOTED FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST
1st Corinthians 11:1 ... Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
We want to BUILD like Christ
WE WILL INVEST IN EACH OTHER, AND BRING OUT THE BEST IN EACH OTHER
1st Thessalonians 5:11 ... Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
We want to SEND like Christ
WE WILL MAKE OUR UNIQUE CONTRIBUTION TO THE CHURCH AND THE COMMUNITY
Acts 1:8 ... But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
